GBG ARTS
In 2000, Gabriela Benaim Ginnari created gbgarts.com initially as a digital gallery, this being the first virtual community in Venezuela dedicated to promoting local artists. Then, together with Mario Matos, they created «El Espacio» located in Las Mercedes, during 2005 and 2007. In 2009 GBG ARTS® officially opened its doors. Located in Prados del Este, the gallery is an old double-height shed and has two rooms that together add up to 150 m2 of exhibition space.
GBG ARTS® was born mainly from Gabriela Benaim's interest in cultural management, an interest that she inherited from her parents, Consuelo Ginnari and Ricardo Benaim, both artists and cultural promoters. Thus, Gabriela's relationship with art and local artists has always been a regular situation since her youth, therefore the impulse to create a new space to promote the plastic arts. Gabriela Benaim Ginnari and Mario Matos, in association with Andrea Gámez and Ricardo Báez, direct the GBG ARTS® gallery.
Currently this space has different means for the promotion of modern and contemporary local art: temporary exhibitions made up of individual or collective exhibitions, permanent exhibitions such as the Pixel® Format, projects for integrating art into architecture, advising on art investment, publishing brochures, distribution of catalogs and books with information on the artists associated with the gallery.
Each of these edges complement each other to provide a comprehensive perspective that fosters the interest of people who want to know in greater detail what happens in the field of visual arts. In this way, the gallery has raised its work from various genres, such as drawing, painting, sculpture and photography; based on the work of emerging artists and artists with more experience.
«We are very interested in supporting visual genres, which in some way have been left aside to replace with new media such as video or installation modalities, or with more current thoughts such as conceptual art.
