Kunstzürichsüd Gallery
The Kunstzürichsüd Association
Under the name kunstzürichsüd lives a politically and denominationally independent association based in Adliswil. Our aim is to promote artistic creation in the Zurich South region, to encourage joint work and to organise joint exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad. We operate our own gallery - Galerie kunstzürichsüd - at Zürichstrasse 1 in Adliswil. In this way, we want to create a permanent presence in the public space in order to make the visual arts permanently visible and bring them closer to the general public.
At Soodstrasse 38, Adliswil, Switzerland they run a community studio where eight artists currently work. Here we also offer space and supervision for young people and run various courses for outsiders.
Our association currently comprises over 90 artists from the fields of painting, sculpture, photography, video art, performances and installations.
Activities of the association
The artists of our association are invited every third Wednesday of the month to a members' meeting in our gallery. The purpose of these meetings is to meet like-minded people, to exchange experiences and ideas, to inspire each other and to create something new.
Every month (usually on the 1st Thursday of the month) a vernissage of a new exhibition takes place in our gallery from 4pm. Every third Sunday of the month, an art aperitif is organised in the gallery and the current exhibition between 4 and 6 pm. This measure is intended to activate and consolidate relations with the public in an unconventional way.
Once a year, an "open day" is held in our community studio. Here the artists are to be visited and observed at their "work place".
