Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa
The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa is the largest art museum in Africa, and the largest museum in the world showcasing the art of Africa and its diaspora. The museum is dedicated to researching, collecting, and exhibiting this art, and houses an impressive collection of work from all over the continent and beyond.
The exhibition space covers 6,000 square meters over nine floors, with 100 gallery spaces. Zeitz MOCAA is named in honour of the renowned Zeitz Collection, the museum’s founding collection which gives it standing among leading contemporary art museums worldwide. Zeitz Collection includes works by eminent arts such as Chris Ofili, Kudzanai Chiurai, Kehinde Wiley, Glenn Ligon, Marlene Dumas, Wangechi Mutu and Julie Mehretu.
