Sekta Archaelogical Living Museum
The Sect Museum of Archaeological Life, commonly known as the Sect Cay, is one of the main tourist attractions of Imfal and invites archaeologists, historians and tourists from all over the world. Visiting the museum provides a rare opportunity to explore ancient antiques depicting the history of tribes in Manipur during the 14th and 15th centuries. Different sections of the museum acquaint visitors with the traditions and rituals followed by the tribes in ancient times. The museum also houses a unique collection of ornaments, exquisite pottery, semi-precious stones and metal equipment. Visitors may also come across rare artifacts belonging to former rulers Matthew and Naga. The museum is located on an archeological site excavated by the Archaeological Service of India (ASI) and archaeologists from Manipur.
