Victoria Memorial Hall

The Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkata, with its sprawling grounds and iconic marble edifice, is the most-visited museum in India in terms of footfall.
The autonomous organization which is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, opened its doors to the public in December 1921. It hosts a rich collection of art and historical artefacts relating mainly to Indian history from the eighteenth century onward.
