Proarta
In 1989 the Proarta Gallery was founded by the art historian Roxana Pirovano. Since its first exhibition with works by Sonja Delaunay, the gallery has focused on artists of classical modernism as well as internationally established greats of contemporary art. The emphasis is on Informal Art, Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art and Constructive Art of the 20th century. In the first decade of its existence, exhibitions of renowned artists such as Serge Poliakoff, Sonia Robert Delaunay, Jean Arp, Hans Richter, Alexander Calder, Joan Miro, Sam Francis, Paul Jenkins followed. Later, international contemporary artists such as Jim Dine, Christo Jeanne Claude, Nam June Paik, Keith Sonnier, Shin Sung-Hy, Jan Voss, Sabine Tress, Gottfried Honegger and others expanded the program. Especially important was the cooperation with Sam francis and the Sam Francis Foundation as well as with the estates of Sonia Delaunay or Hans Richter. In addition, selected young artists are being presented to a broad public in intensive development work. Last year, the Proarta Gallery also concentrated on coaching young and contemporary artists. Catalogues of Edition Proarta documented most of the exhibitions. Gallery Proarta also offers exhibition dreams and services for pop up stores, events and artist residency.
