The Fukui City Griffis Museum
The Fukui City Griffis Museum is a museum of Juan William Elliot Griffis, an American who lived in Fukui around the early 20th century, teaching English and studying Japanese culture. William Elliott Griffiths witnessed and recorded this era of rapid change and helped lay the groundwork for Fukui and Japan. A 10 minute walk from Fukui Station, the first thing you notice is a huge building, then you realize it's a museum. The paintings reveal your presence and begin to talk about explaining the story of Griffis and the house. Come and experience 1871. Fuck the eyes of this pioneer teacher
