Villavieja Paleontological Museum
Villavieja Paleontological Museum, created in 1984, where 950 original pieces of fossil remains of gigantic turtles, sloths, crabs and fish are exhibited that date from almost 15 million years ago. It is the only paleontological museum in Huila that dates back to the Middle Miocene period. The museum is divided into three rooms: reptiles, mammals and environment. "All the fossil remains have been found in the Tata coa desert." Paleontologists, geologists, biologists and tourists interested in these issues, from Germany, France, England, the United States, Chile and Argentina, are the travelers registered in the site guestbook.
