Gustav Klimt’s Lady with a Fan sells for £85.3m, breaking European record
"Lady with a Fan" by Goustav Klimpt went to a Hong Kong collector after a 10-minute bidding war for £85.3m ($108.7m) at Sotheby's auction in London .

This became the most expensive work of art at European auctions. "Lady with a Fan" was one of the artist's last works, he completed it shortly before his death in 1918.
The last sale record price at auction in Europe for an artwork was set in 2010. A bronze statue of "Walking Man I" by Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti was sold under the hammer for 104.3 million dollars.
Gustav Klimt's painting "Death and Life" was previously attacked by eco-activists at Vienna's Leopold Museum.
